Physiotherapy Specialist Services

In March 2023, Daniel Harvey became a registered Physiotherapy Specialist (Musculoskeletal). As of 2023 there are only 16 Physiotherapy Specialists in New Zealand and only eight musculoskeletal clinicians.

From 1st May 2023 Harvey will be accepting referrals from health care professionals for patients to be assessed and managed under the ACC Physiotherapy Specialist Services contract.

The service targets patients with complex or chronic musculoskeletal conditions who are not improving or need a second opinion of their diagnosis or management plan.

There is no co-payment for patients to access this service.

For patients to be eligible they must have a registered and accepted ACC claim number linked directly to the current condition and the referral letter must state that the patient is being referred for a Physiotherapy Specialist Service.

Assessments usually take up to one hour and are either face to face at the Westgate clinic (13C Maki Street, Westgate, Auckland) or via Telehealth.
